Servicing

Service

TUDOR has a wide globally accredited network of Official Retailers and Service Centres.

During a TUDOR service, the movement of your watch is completely overhauled to ensure that its performance complies with its original specifications. You can also opt to have the case and bracelet cleaned and refinished to restore their lustre. Timekeeping accuracy and waterproofness are always rigorously tested to guarantee the level of quality and reliability that TUDOR is famous for.

After a service, it is important to wind your TUDOR manually before wearing it for the first time. To do this, unscrew the crown to the winding position and turn it clockwise about 20 times. Please remember to screw the crown back down properly against the case in order to guarantee waterproofness.

PROCESS OF WATCH SERVICE

watch identification
Tudor Watch Identification

The serial number is unique to your watch.

It allows TUDOR watchmakers to identify your timepiece.

Analysis

Before the service itself is performed, a detailed diagnostic examination is carried out. One of the highly qualified watchmakers from the extensive network of TUDOR Service Centres meticulously examines the case, bracelet and movement of your watch in order to determine which service procedures will be necessary. Based on this analysis, an itemised estimate will be provided to you.

DISASSEMBLY
Servicing The Movement

Once the estimate has been accepted, the watchmaker begins the disassembly. The bracelet of your watch is detached from its case. The latter is then opened and the movement removed. The case is then entirely disassembled.

Cleaning and Replacement
Cleaning and Replacement of Worn Parts

The movement is also disassembled and each of its components carefully ultrasonically cleaned. The components of the movement are meticulously examined and those that are worn or damaged are replaced by genuine TUDOR replacement parts.

LUBRIFICATION AND REASSEMBLY OF THE MOVEMENT

The movement is reassembled and its components are carefully lubricated in order to minimize friction and wear. This procedure ensures that your timepiece will continue to function optimally and precisely.

Calibration

The precision of your watch is ensured by its balance wheel which oscillates more than 690,000 times a day. To ensure its precision, a meticulous calibration is performed and then verified electronically. Following this, a series of rigorous technical tests are carried out over several days to guarantee the proper functioning of the movement.

REASSEMBLY OF THE MOVEMENT
Refinishing
REFINISHING SERVICE OPTIONAL

In conjunction with a Full Service, TUDOR also offers the optional refinishing of the case and bracelet (where applicable). This entails careful polishing, satin-finishing and ultrasonic cleaning to restore the original lustre.

The servicing of the case and bracelet of your watch is performed according to the same standards of quality as those applied to the servicing of the movement. After careful cleaning, the case and bracelet are meticulously examined. Any worn or damaged component is replaced by genuine TUDOR replacement parts.

Reassembly
REASSEMBLY OF THE CASE

Once the service has been completed, your watch case is reassembled and all its seals are replaced to ensure its waterproof quality.

waterproofing
WATERPROOFING TESTS

Your watch case is rigorously tested to ensure it meets waterproofing requirements. Two tests – a vacuum test and a pressure test – are conducted in water and are followed by an additional condensation detection test to detect the presence of even the slightest amount of moisture inside the case.

quality controls
FINAL QUALITY CONTROL

Rigorous quality controls are carried out at each stage of the servicing process. During the final quality control, the power reserve, timing precision and aesthetic appearance of your watch are verified yet again to guarantee that your TUDOR watch is of the highest quality standard.
